On April 19, 2022, the "Sino-Dutch Facility Agriculture and Horticulture Cooperation Forum" was held in the Almere World Horticultural Exposition. Tan Jian, Chinese Ambassador to the Netherlands, Leen Verbeek, Commissioner of the King of Flevoland, Andrea, Chairman of the Netherlands Green Harbor Association, and Annette Wijering, Director of International Trade of the Netherlands Enterprise Bureau attended and delivered speeches. Cross-Border E-Commerce Association Europe (CBCAE), as a representative of a well-known enterprise that promotes cultural, economic, and trade exchanges between China and the Netherlands, was invited to attend this event.

In the forum, government officials, experts, scholars, and business representatives from China and the Netherlands conducted in-depth discussions on the prospects and opportunities of Sino-Dutch agricultural cooperation and put forward a number of specific cooperation suggestions. All parties in the meeting generally believed that China and the Netherlands have complementary advantages and great cooperation potential in the field of agricultural cooperation. They looked forward to deepening cooperation and exchanges between the two countries and jointly promoting the development of the green plants.

Tan Jian, Chinese Ambassador to the Netherlands, said in his speech: This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations at the ambassadorial level between China and the Netherlands. Looking back, the relationship between the two countries has made great progress. The two sides are committed to building an "open and pragmatic comprehensive partnership".Looking forward to the future, with the deepening of mutual trust and exchanges between the two countries, there will be more areas and deeper cooperation opportunities worth looking forward to.

Governor Leen Verbeek said in his opening speech that with the theme of "Developing Green Cities", the Expo will focus on innovative technologies in areas such as green livability, food supply, environmental health, and clean energy. He has visited China many times and saw the huge potential for economic and trade cooperation between the two countries. He hopes that China and the Netherlands will carry out more trades and information sharings in areas of agriculture and horticulture in the future to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.

Chairman Andre said that the horticultural industry is a model for the great cause of a small country in the Netherlands. Relying on the advantages of characteristic green ports, the Netherlands has not only become a major exporter of vegetables, fruits, flowers, and grains in the world but also actively shares advanced technologies with other countries in the world to promote the optimization of sustainable development structure. China and the Netherlands have close cooperation in the horticultural industry, and many Dutch horticultural companies regard China as the key country of their international business development. It is hoped that the two sides will continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between enterprises, enhance mutual understanding, and build green industrial clusters with Chinese characteristics according to local conditions.

In addition to the forum, as the largest national pavilion in this Expo, the "China Bamboo Garden Pavilion" has attracted much attention since its debut. It naturally integrates traditional Chinese culture and modern craftsmanship, and vividly interprets the theme of the Expo of “develop green cities”.

Ambassador Tan took the opportunity of the opening of the China Pavilion at the Expo to introduce China's bamboo culture to the guests through vivid language. He said that bamboo grows fast, with elasticity, is resistant to strong wind, strong and resilient, bends well, and is not easy to break, which symbolizes the character endowment and spiritual outlook of the Chinese nation, and is deeply favored by Chinese literati. I wish China-Netherlands relationship grows like the bamboo, being flourish and full of resilience.

China is the world's largest producer and consumer of horticultural products, and the Netherlands is a global leader in the field of horticulture, with a highly coordinated industrial chain from plant breeding, planting, and product processing to greenhouse construction. Sino-Dutch horticultural cooperation started decades ago and has now become an important area of cooperation between the two countries. It is expected that China and the Netherlands will further expand cooperation in the field of horticulture in the future and make new contributions to the development of bilateral relations.

In the future, Cross-Border E-Commerce Association Europe (CBCAE) will be based on the tenet of "service, communication, sharing, innovation, and win-win", and make every effort to promote in-depth exchanges and cooperation in the field of e-commerce between Europe and other countries in the world, enhance cross-border e-commerce cooperation and work together to build a better future!
